GoMetro, MiX Telematics, HSW, ACDC Dynamics are working to deploy electric minibuses in the Stellenbosch Municipality (Western Cape Province) by January 2023. To achieve this, the project team is relying on reduced fees and other costs associated with the acquisition of electric vehicles in South Africa, as well as technology solutions from South African supplier MiX Telematics. In this context, the South African government has decided to support the development of the electric car market with licenses already granted to BMW, Nissan, and Volkswagen. In early 2022, the Chinese manufacturer launched the CityBug, an electric vehicle model already marketed in Asia, Germany, Spain, Uruguay and the United Kingdom (07/07/2022 – Afrik 21)
