The ATUM Solar project has been launched in December 2025 (date of commencement of construction of the plant). Location: TEDA Egypt Industrial Zone, Ain Sokhna. Total investment: USD 220 million. The complex includes a 2 GW solar cell factory, a 2 GW solar panel factory, and a 1 GWh energy storage systems unit. The overall development is being carried out by a consortium comprising JA Solar (China) as the technology investor, the Egyptian company AH for industrial management, the Emirati company Global South Utilities (GSU), and the Bahraini fund Infinity Capital. All solar cell production is intended for export, while the storage systems are primarily intended to supply the local market and certain regional markets. The local content rate is expected to reach 90%.
